Red Wagon Food Drive Continues to Deliver

redwagonstart_1The Red Wagon Food Drive was started almost 10 years ago when Grace Campbell, Nina Callahan and Molly D’Arcy along with some friends set out with a red wagon to collect food from a few neighbors (grainy photo attached).  They then started distributing a flyer via email to all neighbors.  In most recent years, Joan D’Arcy and Ellen Campbell have continued the tradition and they have received responses from 50-60 neighbors.  On the Sunday before Thanksgiving, they and plenty of children and adult volunteers help pick up and deliver the food to Open Table’s Concord pantry.  Ellen has expanded the reach beyond the Nashawtuc Hill neighborhood to surrounding streets including Main, Park, Wood and Nashoba.

Open Table thanks the Red Wagon team and their very generous friends in the Nashawtuc Hill neighborhood who have made a difference in so many lives.
