Second Mobile Pantry a Success

On Saturday, April 6, Open Table brought its second mobile market to the Hanscom AFB Middle School as part of the Month of the Military Child, designed to recognize the sacrifice of military children and honor their bravery, resilience and strength. We served 112 families (in two hours!) who took home over 6,000 pounds of groceries, including kid-friendly, healthy snacks, breakfast cereal choices and plenty of soup and sandwich fixins’. Parents welcomed the abundant selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy and frozen meats. The majority of the shelf stable choices, as well as nearly 100 Kids’ bags, came from Open Table’s community donations. This mobile market was made possible thanks to volunteers from Open Table and the Hanscom Middle School.
