New Facility Update: The Paint is on the Walls!

The construction of our new site continues, with paint going up on the walls. We’re excited about the colors – warm golds and bright greens.

Jim Terry reports:

The kitchen equipment should begin arriving in about a week. It will take some time to install. Old fluorescent lighting is being removed and new LED lights will replace them. After that the ceiling tiles will be installed. Wall paper will be installed in the lower area of the dining room, a chair rail will be put on top of that.

Pantry volunteers are working on determining what equipment to buy for the distribution pantry and where to put shelving for the storage pantry. Investigations of what type of window treatment for the front wall (three large windows on each side of the front entrance) has begun.

Facility volunteers are beginning discussions on how to manage the building, security, waste disposal, parking and a number of other issues.
