Open Table Announces Grant from Nash Family Foundation

Grant Supports Purchase of Equipment for New Annex

Concord and Maynard, MA (August 23, 2024) – Open Table, the MetroWest charity dedicated to fighting hunger and building healthy communities, announced the receipt of a generous grant from the Nash Family Foundation. The funds have been used to help purchase a Pallet Lift and Pallet Scale, essential equipment for enhancing operations at  the organization’s newly expanded facility.

Over the past year, Open Table has responded to surging demand for food relief, distributing more than 800,000 pounds of food and 70,000 prepared meals. With the addition of a new food storage Annex, Open Table will be able to accept pallet-sized donations of food, significantly increasing its capacity to serve the community. The Pallet Lift and Scale enable the efficient unloading, transfer, and redistribution of food, critical for Open Table’s mobile pantry programs.

Executive Director Alexandra DePalo expressed gratitude, stating, “The Nash Family Foundation’s continued support over the past ten years has been instrumental to our growth. This latest investment allows us to better serve our community, meeting increasing needs with greater efficiency and safety.”

With this support, Open Table is better equipped to provide essential food assistance, ensuring more people in need receive the help they deserve.
